Hail Hits Ahipara School

Hail Hits Ahipara School

One stormy day in June, hail poured out of the sky and covered our school yard and deck. The hail stones were quite large and took a long time to melt. Once the thunder and lightning stopped we ran outside to play with the hail. It was so much fun but our hands felt frozen!

School Speech Finalists from Room 8

School Speech Finalists from Room 8

The room 8 speech finalists were Boston, Mia, and Zara, and Boston and Mia co-won the Year 4 speech award. We were very proud of the quality of room 8's speeches this year and very happy for our winners. The judge was impressed with the content and delivery of the speeches. Each speech was meaningful to the speaker and met the criteria that had been stated at the start of speech writing.

Matariki Lanterns

 Room 8's Matariki Lanterns

Ahipara community had a Matariki festival with many events planned over 3 days. One of these events was a lantern display made from lanterns that were decorated by each class at Ahipara School, including ours. Whaea Bex organised for the lanterns to be at the event and the event organisers supplied these to the school . We thought our lanterns looked beautiful! What do you think?
